Wizzmo is designed for children, and safeguarding is a product decision, not a policy bolt-on. Here's how that shows up.
No public leaderboards
Wizzmo never names a child to other children. Progress is private to the child, their parent or guardian, and (in schools) their teacher.
No AI training on child data
Children's answers, hints, and progress are never used to train any third-party AI model. They're processed transiently by Anthropic's Claude API under a data-processing agreement, then discarded.
No third-party advertising
Wizzmo shows no ads — not from us, not from anyone. We are subscription-funded precisely so children are never the product.
Age-Appropriate Design Code
Wizzmo is built to the UK ICO's Age-Appropriate Design Code. Defaults favour privacy; profiling is off; in-app language is age-appropriate. Our AADC audit is scheduled with external counsel ahead of launch.
No chat between children
Wizzmo has no peer-to-peer messaging surface, no friend lists, and no social feed. The only humans a child can interact with through Wizzmo are their own parent/guardian and, in a school context, their teachers.
Concerns and reports
If you have a safeguarding concern about content, behaviour, or a suspected security issue, email safeguarding@wizzmo.com or use the contact form and mark it "safeguarding". We respond same-day during UK working hours.
Designated safeguarding lead
Our designated safeguarding lead is named in our school onboarding pack and is available at safeguarding@wizzmo.com. We are happy to provide a school's named DSL with direct contact details on request.
Reviewing our practice
We review this policy annually and after any safeguarding incident. Schools and parents can request our most recent review summary.
