Wizzmo, the wizard owl mascot
About

Maths shouldn't feel like a punishment.

Wizzmo is built by WiseBees Academy — a small UK team trying to fix the part of secondary school where curious kids stop being curious.

Rediscovery, not drilling

Most learning apps gamify drill: get the right answer, get a sticker. Wizzmo is built on a different idea — that kids learn best when they're prompted to predict, try, and revise. We use AI for Socratic hints, not for grading. The kid does the thinking; Wizzmo holds the scaffolding.

Curriculum-aligned, not curriculum-replacing

Wizzmo's content spine comes from Oak National Academy — a UK curriculum body — covering every subject across Years 7 through 11 (sixth form and primary to follow). We don't invent quizzes with an LLM, because LLMs are unreliable on factual answer keys. Oak provides the truth; Wizzmo's wizard layer provides the soul.

Designed to end the session

The dominant design pattern in ed-tech is to maximise time-in-app. Wizzmo points the other way: one quest per day, a clean exit, a weekly summary for the parent. Mastery is the reward, not minutes.

Built for the UK

Wizzmo is UK-first by design — UK curriculum, UK GDPR, UK Age-Appropriate Design Code. Our research partners (LJMU; partnerships in progress) are UK. We'll expand internationally only when the UK launch is solid.
